It will bring a classic story to modern smartphones

Owners of Windows Phone-based devices can now download and enjoy a game that will certainly bring back memories for many: Final Fantasy.

The original Final Fantasy game was released in Japan in 1987, but the Windows Phone game is not a port of that variant.

Instead, it arrives as a port of the PSP remake that was made available in 2007, and which also made its way to Apple’s iOS devices.

Back in 1987, the game was capable of amazing people with its rich story and stunning graphics, though not all Windows Phone users will find it as appealing in today’s smartphone world.

In fact, some of them already complained in the Windows Phone Marketplace of the graphics it has to offer, especially since it is priced at $6.99.

Those who try it will find it somehow sluggish on several Windows Phone models, and they will also get stuck with the same aspect ratio as on the iOS flavor, phoneArena notes. Thus, the game will not fill the screen.

The game will also offer fast access to phone’s battery life, wireless, and cellular signal through a clock icon in the bar. It will also get users through a classic story, most probably capable of winning once again the hearts of the nostalgic.

“Players guide the Warriors of Light as they set out on a quest to restore the crystals to their former luster,” the game’s description reads.

“Its side view battles, choice and promotion of character classes, and sprawling world explored with fantastic vehicles quickly became standards of the series. This game set the stage for all FINAL FANTASY games to come.”

Moreover, the new game edition comes to Windows Phone devices with bonus dungeons that were initially added to later editions of the game – the Soul of Chaos and the Labyrinth of Time.

You can find the Final Fantasy game in the Windows Phone Marketplace today. A free trial is also available for those who don’t want to pay $6.99 for it right from the start.
