Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates is an RPG for the Nintendo DS developed and published by the Japanese company Square Enix. It is a prequel to Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles for the Nintendo GameCube. The game takes advantage of both the local wireless and Wi-Fi capabilities of the system and features voice acting done by the most appreciated actors in Japan, for the local version and from the United States in the worldwide one.

Most of the gameplay takes place on the top screen. The touch screen provides inventory and status information as well as stylus access for different weapon attacks. There are also special race-specific attacks in the game. By pressing the right trigger button, the screens will swap allowing enemies to be attacked by certain races just by touching them with the stylus. If done correctly, chained attacks can be performed. In order to perform the spells needed throughout the game, your character requires Magicite, a special element found in six forms: Fire, Thunder, Blizzard, Cure, Clear and Raise. The main protagonist is Yuri who is the typical Final Fantasy hero, starting off with nothing but a resolution to find out the truth about the Great Crystal. He is aided in his quest by his older sister Chelinka which acts as an advisor and conscience for the young hero.

Completion bonuses

Successfully complete the game to unlock New Game+ mode. You can now continue with a new session with the cleared saved game file. Complete the second Varl Mountain event to enter a bonus dungeon.

Successfully complete the game in New Game+ mode to unlock New Game++ mode and the Rail Jacket at the equipment shop. The Rail Jacket has ATK +100, DEF +100, MAG +100, HP Regen 3, SP Regen 3, and Impact Plus 3. 

Hard difficulty

Successfully complete the game. 

Very Hard difficulty

Successfully complete the game under the Hard difficulty setting.
