Final Fantasy Anniversary Edition is based on the JPN Version and it also plays in a US/CAN PSPs. The game features new graphics (battle background, sprites, battle sprites, monsters...etc.) a new extra Dungeon and added Final Fantasy Origins movie scenes. The game's map is now mode 7 and there are some added visual effects: sunlight, fog, snow...etc.

Unlockables

Unlock Extra under main menu:
Art Gallery - allows you to view game art that you have unlocked.

Bestiary - gives you information on monsters that you have defeated.

Music Player - allows you to play any BGM from the game.

Time Chamber - allows you to revisit floors of Labyrinth of Time that you have already beaten.

Secrets

15 Puzzle minigame
When you're on a boat, hold Circle and repeatedly tap X button. Then you should be able to play 15 Puzzle minigame.

Gameplay Tips and Hints

The new secret dungeon

Ok, I just spent the last
3 and a half hours in that new secret dungeon, and it is HARD. It should be obvious where the dungeon is once you're near the end of the game. When the timer runs out on the level, your hp and mp will start to go down.

I went in with a Knight, Master, White Wizard and Black Wizard all level 60 and when I completed about 8 puzzles or so, I had to fight a boss. By the time I reached the boss I was level 75.

Here's the Bestiary Info on the boss

HP: 42000
Attack: 120
Accuracy: 200
Defense: 190
Agility: 120
Intelligence: 70
Evasion: 140
Magic Defense: 200

He has no weaknesses and has resistance to any element:

Some of the skills he used were blizzaga, thunderbolt, thundaga and firaga.

What makes him hard is the use of Haste and Seal. Haste causes him to do over 1000 damage (even on my Knight). I'm not sure if you can dispel it because I didn't have it at the time. Seal makes one of your commands (Fight, Magic, or Item) unavailable for a certain number of turns. I had to use megaelixers (about 10), support items, and attack items to beat the boss.

What happens after I kill the boss?

You get:

- A barbarian sword (which is basically a broadsword with 125 attacks and 20 accuracy). It even has the same item description as a broadsword.

- 1 gil and 1 exp

- After that you get a sequence of messages:

- Clear time: 3:35:37
- Battles Fought 217
- Title: Invincible False God
- You have unlocked the Time Chamber

Here's a lucky guy already playing the game on his PSP. You'll witness a combat sequence that reminds me of the first Final Fantasy titles:
