The GNOME developers behind the Nautilus project (now known as Files) have announced that version 3.14 Beta 1 is now available for download and testing.

The new Files (Nautilus) 3.14 Beta 1 has arrived, but it's quite an unimpressive release. Most of the major packages in GNOME got some important changes and improvements, but it looks like Nautilus is not one of them.

Nautilus is one of the most visible parts of the GNOME project and one of the first things a user sees when (s)he opens a distribution based on GNOME.

According to the changelog, some problems with fast group/owner changes have been corrected, the user list for owner changes has been corrected, margin-start / end is now used instead of deprecated margin-left / right, the floating bar CSS style has been corrected after the move to Adwaita GTK+, a build glitch with enums file has been fixed, and some translations have been updated.

A complete list of changes can be found in the official changelog. You can download Files 3.14 Beta 1 (formerly known as Nautilus) sources right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
