The GNOME developers behind the Nautilus project (now known as Files) have announced that version 3.12.2 is now available for download.

Nautilus may have changed its name to Files, but it will take a long time for people to get used to it. The latest version features numerous changes, even if a major GNOME 3.12 release was outed only a couple of weeks ago.

Nautilus is one of the most visible parts of the GNOME project and one of the first things a user sees when (s)he opens a distribution based on GNOME.

According to the changelog, symlinks are no longer resolved before launching an application, a crasher that occurred when switching the location from the trash has been fixed, a crasher that occurred when enumerating windows has been corrected, and a crasher that happened when listing bookmarks has been fixed.

Also, the headerbar is now used in the bookmarks dialog, the arrow direction in the connect server dialog for RTL has been fixed, spaces between em dashes in file operations are now used, legacy emblem names are no longer used, and the GTK+ setting for “sort-directories-first” is now getting synced properly.

A complete list of changes can be found in the official changelog. You can download Files 3.12.2 (formerly known as Nautilus) sources right now from Softpedia.
