Apple subsidiary FileMaker Inc. has announced that FileMaker Go 12 for iPad and FileMaker Go 12 for iPhone have shot past the 100,000 download mark in their first week out in the App Store.

FileMaker Pro 12 is the leading database software available for Mac OS X. It lets you create custom business apps, which FileMaker Go 12 can then remotely access as database apps on iPhone and iPad.

Available as free downloads on the iTunes App Store, FileMaker Go 12 for iPad and iPhone make it easy for everyone to run iOS database apps featuring cool themes and Starter Solutions, powerful desktop design tools, and superior file management for some of the most popular media-intensive applications today.

Commenting on the milestone, Ryan Rosenberg, vice president, marketing and services, FileMaker, Inc., said “The rapid adoption of FileMaker Go 12 strengthens FileMaker’s position as a leading platform for creating custom iOS business apps.”

“Businesses are using FileMaker Pro to create apps to manage everything from their inventory to contacts to salespersons’ routes, and deploying these on their iPads and iPhones with FileMaker Go,” Rosenberg added.

Using FileMaker GO, entire teams of people can view, edit, and search for information, then securely share with each other wherever they are.

The solution also enables them to capture signatures, view reports and charts, save information as PDF and Excel, and email or print data.

FileMaker Go connects via WiFi and 3G wireless (as well as 4G LTE on the new iPad) and requires FileMaker Pro 12 or FileMaker Pro 12 Advanced to create or modify databases.

Interested parties can download a free 30-day trial of FileMaker Pro 12 to start creating custom iOS business apps.
