The GNOME Project announced last evening, August 19, that the first Beta release of the upcoming File Roller 3.10 (file-roller) application, the default archive manager for the GNOME desktop environment, is available for download and testing.

File Roller 3.10 Beta 1 introduces the possibility to view the password entry content, fixes unnecessary word breaking in the message and progress dialogs, and restores directory modification time when extracting files.

Moreover, this release fixes file deletion from war, ear and jar archives, as well as an error with creating 7Zip archives for folders without write permissions. Also, users will now be able to add files to a subfolder with 7zip and zip archives.

The following translations have been updated in this first Beta release of the upcoming File Roller 3.10 software: Catalan, Czech, Drouizig, Spanish, Hebrew, Italian, Slovenian, Tajik, and Vietnamese. For more details, please view the official raw changelog.

Download File Roller 3.10 Beta 1 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a beta version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
