And you thought “Fight Club” was awesome

Although the movie was a flop in the box office, “Fight Club” later developed into a cult film and has been worshiped in silence by all those who have a bone to pick with our current consumer society. Most of the reviews speak in high terms about the film adaptation of the Chuck Palahniuk novel, directed by David Fincher, but not Honest Trailers.

In their 3-minute clip, they set about deconstructing the very basis of the movie, pointing out that it later went on to become a money-earning franchise, while being a movie that criticizes money-making franchises. The irony should be evident here.

They also point out that the movie is filled with product placement, making it twice as hypocritical, not to mention the fact that they use a perfectly chiseled Brad Pitt to get their point across.

The trailer comes on the movie's 15th birthday and among rife speculations that Palahniuk is planning a sequel to the book in the form of a graphic novel or a comic book. And no matter how many flaws the book or the movie had, we're all still dying to see where it's going to take Tyler Durden and Jack (though in the book, the main character doesn't have a name).
