With F-Secure mobile antivirus

F-Secure announced first antivirus product for smartphones with Symbian S60 3rd Edition. Beside this new product, the company has developed antivirus software for Windows Mobile 2003, Windows Mobile 2005 and other version of Symbian F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus 3.0 for S60 3rd Edition is available first for new Nokia phones from E and N series. In N71 and N80 F-Secure will be the default antivirus solution and on E61 and E70 will be downloadable through Nokia Catalogue.

Antti Vihavainen, Vice President, Mobile Security, Mobile Operator Sales said that F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus will also incorporate, besides support in 27 languages, a next-generation scanning engine called Hydra 2, which makes it even more efficient at detecting viruses before they cause damage to a phone

Features: -Transparent real-time protection against harmful content in the device and memory cards -Automatic antivirus database updates from F-Secure Anti-Virus Research to the mobile terminals over an HTTPS data connection or incrementally with SMS messages (incremental updates available later for PocketPC and Smartphone) -Automatic detection of data connections (e.g. GPRS, WLAN, UMTS) for updates -Over-the-air activation of the antivirus service through HTTP -Automatic self-updates of the F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus client -Digitally signed antivirus databases and virus signature updates.
