14 DAY TRIAL // As promised last week, the second official trailer for the upcoming release “Fifty Shades of Grey” got its world premiere on the latest episode of “Scandal” with Kerry Washington some hours ago. You can see it in full and in HD embedded below as well.
“Fifty Shades of Grey” is the first installment in a planned trilogy based on E.L. James’ best-selling adult novels of the same name. It stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson as leads: he is the mysterious, handsome, and rich Christian Grey, she is the ingénue who just graduated from college, writing a piece about him, Anastasia Steele.
They start a relationship that seems doomed from the start, but that they’re willing to make it work because they’re so attracted to each other.
So the new trailer shows a bit more footage than the original one, including from Anastasia and Christian’s first meeting and the good time they had before he revealed to her exactly in which way his tastes were a bit… “more singular.”
Speaking of which, this new trailer finally includes steamier scenes, which readers of the book should know to expect right after Grey tells Ana that he “doesn’t do relationships” because he’s into S&M. This is when he takes her to his Red Room and “enlightens” her about those singular tastes.
You shouldn’t get too excited though: in his interviews so far, Dornan made it clear that the film would stick to an R-rating, which means it won’t be too revealing during these love scenes. That is to say, most of the action will occur off screen, be suggested rather than shown.
Unlike the novel it’s based on, “Fifty Shades of Grey” the film will play like a love story and not some dark exploration of one’s sexuality.
This said, the premiere date is set for Valentine’s Day 2015. I bet there will be some very unwilling men in theaters worldwide on that day.
