Universal Pictures has confirmed the release date for the “Fifty Shades of Grey” sequel, “Fifty Shades Darker,” for February 2017, but you don’t have to wait for much longer to get your Christian Grey fix. It comes today, under the guise of a teaser for the upcoming installment, and the leak of the alternate ending of the first film.

You can find both videos embedded below.

The teaser for “Fifty Shades Darker” is just that: a teaser. It only shows Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey, getting ready for a masquerade ball and admiring himself in the mirror, as he’s slipping on a black mask over the eyes.

Dakota Johnson aka Anastasia Steele isn’t featured, but I assume that’s her breathing heavily on the score. The video includes captions that promise something “darker.” Readers of E.L. James’ books on which the franchise is based know what that means, but it doesn’t really sit well with what Universal bosses said earlier this week, about making the second film more of a thriller.

I have a feeling fans expecting more passionate (and kinky) lovemaking are in for a disappointment. Again.

This brings us to the original disappointment, the first film, “Fifty Shades of Grey,” which is now out on Blu-ray / DVD. As promised, it included an alternate ending, which has leaked online, obviously. You can find it embedded below as well.

It’s set to Jessie Ware’s “Say You Love Me” and starts after the doors of the elevator close. It shows our two protagonists, Grey and Anna, going about with their lives after the bad breakup and how they can’t seem to get over each other.

More importantly, it ends with Grey leaving a meeting to do something about it, to end the torment. You probably guessed what it is, but if you didn’t, you will find out in the sequel, “Fifty Shades Darker.”
