Mobile phone users in Canada have now a new option at their disposal when it comes to reserving one of the upcoming BlackBerry 10 devices from Research In Motion.

Today Fido, a subsidiary of Rogers, announced that its customers could pre-order BlackBerry 10 handsets online should they want to have them in their hands when they land on shelves.

Fido’s online reservation system requires for users to lay down a $40 deposit to make the reservation, just as MobileSyrup notes in a recent article.

Unfortunately, the wireless carrier hasn’t provided specific info on the price tag RIM’s upcoming smartphones will feature, nor on when they will be put up for sale on its network.

All these details are expected to be made official on January 30, when RIM will make a formal introduction of its next-gen mobile OS.
