Indie hits have often emerged at the event attached to the GDC

Most gamers will focus on the big win that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim from Bethesda registered at the GDC awards, but at the same time the Independent Games Festival also delivered a slew of indie based awards.

The Seumas McNally Grand Prize went to Fez and the developer Phil Fish stated, “Thank you so much. This means the world to me. Five f**king years. I don't know what to say... Thank you.”
