Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is an upcoming FPS from Square Enix and Eidos that is a direct sequel to the immensely popular Deus Ex: Human Revolution. There is a good chance that Linux users will also get a chance to play it.

Feral Interactive is a studio specialized in porting games to the Mac OS platform, but they've also done a fair bit of work with Linux titles such as Empire Total War or the XCOM series. They have a good record, and they do very good ports, so when they started polling people about the upcoming Deus Ex: Mankind Divided gamers got really excited about.

Besides the porting process of the actual game, we also need to take into consideration the fact that publisher Square Enix has not taken into consideration the Linux platform until now. Feral Interactive is polling the Linux community about their interesting regarding this title, but it doesn't mean that Square Enix has made any decision about this game.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided on Linux wouldn't be surprising

The Linux platform has been getting a lot of attention lately, and numerous games have been announced for it. Many of those titles are scheduled to be released later this year, so Deus Ex: Mankind Divided wouldn't feel out of place.

"Mac and Linux gamers have already started jamming requests for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided into THE REQUESTINATOR, but please note that the machine can only consider your request if you first say it out loud in your gruffest Adam Jensen voice," reads the message posted by Feral Interactive on their Facebook page.

It's basically a request from developers to the community to see just how much interesting a game like this would get, especially just days after it was announced for Windows and consoles. The devs from Feral have also pointed out that it doesn't mean that Square Enix has agreed to anything until now.
