Blizzard confirms that it's working on quite a few new characters for Heroes of the Storm, beyond the already confirmed Butcher from Diablo 3. These include multiple StarCraft characters, not to mention a female Diablo skin that looks more like the one from Diablo 3.

Heroes of the Storm is Blizzard's big bet on the multiplayer online battle arena genre, as after lengthy alpha and beta test periods, the final version of the game was released last week all around the world.

Shortly afterwards, Blizzard's Dustin Browder promised that new characters would appear for the game about every three weeks. Over the weekend, the studio confirmed that Diablo 3's Butcher would be the next character coming to HotS.

Blizzard wants more StarCraft characters in the game

During a special launch event for the Australia and New Zealand market, via SiliconSports, Blizzard's employees also pledged to release more StarCraft characters for Heroes of the Storm, as the current ones aren't that numerous.

Apparently, plenty are in the works right now, and while Artanis was mentioned by name as a great fit for Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard's employees pointed out that nothing was set in stone just yet.

What's more, while Diablo is already in the game right now, Blizzard also mentioned that a female skin, which turns him into the more feminine version seen in Diablo 3,was among the priorities of the dev team at the moment.

Another reason is that the female Diablo is portrayed in the official cinematic trailer for Heroes of the Storm, and seeing the much more masculine character in the game has led to a bit of confusion amidst fans who aren't that well-versed in the lore of the Diablo series overall.

Expect to hear and see more of Blizzard's future plans for Heroes of the Storm in the future, as it's pledged to continue supporting the multiplayer brawler for a long period of time.
