Some suspect that a female accomplice might have been involved in the terrorist attacks in Boston.

The new theory comes about as authorities find female DNA on a fragment of one of the bombs used in the Boston Marathon blasts, as relayed by HuffPost.

The sample could belong to the seller of the explosives, it could have been touched by a witness at the scene or DNA may have become attached to the fragment in the explosions.

However, as I wrote before, the FBI have already visited Tamerlan Tsarnaev's widow in Rhode Island.

Katherine Russell supplied a DNA sample for comparison after being approached at her current residence in Kingstown.

The Boston explosions were caused by pressure-cooker bombs left in black duffel bags near the Marathon finish line.
