It’s been more than two months since Motorola introduced the i475w iDEN phone in Peru. Today, the US-based handset maker announced the immediate availability of the handset in Brazil.

Motorola i475w is now available through Nextel sales channels for only R$ 419 (240 US dollars or 180 Euro) off-contract.

Customers who cannot afford to pay that much and are willing to commit to a long-term contract can grab the Motorola i475w for only R$ 279 (160 US dollars or 120 Euro) and sign up for the “SMS Ilimitado” plan, allowing them to send unlimited SMS messages for only R$ 9.9 (5.7 US dollars or 4.2 Euro) per month.

According to Motorola, the i475w targets women, which is one of the main reasons the phone will be available in white with pink and lilac cases.

With the launch of the Motorola i475w, Nextel expands its handset portfolio for the female user fully attuned with the latest technologies but not willing to sacrifice her femininity. This launch matches the lifestyle of the modern woman, who is versatile, practical and in synch with fashion trends,” says Mário Fernando Modé, Nextel marketing manager.

As the name suggests, Motorola i475w comes with push-to-talk (PTT) technology, alongside voice and SMS capabilities.

In addition, the phone is the perfect messaging tool thanks to the full QWERTY keyboard that comes along ITAP predictive text entry technology and threaded messaging.

Motorola i475w sports a small 2-inch standard display that supports 176 x 220 pixels resolution, and a VGA photo snapper with 4X digital zoom. It packs 64MB Flash and 16MB of RAM, as well as Bluetooth and FM radio.

The Motorola i475w offers a new communication experience with the instant, secure connectivity provided by iDEN technology. The handset is ideal for women who require practical communication allied with an elegant and extremely feminine design,” said Wagner Mendonça, iDEN sales director, Motorola Mobility Brazil.
