Fellow dancers on DWTS say Maksim Chmerkovskiy was wrong to lash out at Len Goodman

On last night's Broadway Night on Dancing With the Stars, pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy had an outburst when judge Len Goodman called his and partner Hope Solo's rumba the worst of the season. He was completely off base, his fellow dancers believe.

As we also informed you earlier today, the outburst came after a very exhausting and challenging week, when even Maks seem to lose all confidence in Hope's dancing skills – or, better yet, in her ability to become one.

When Goodman told her that the rumba had been her “worst [dance] of the season,” Maks lost his cool and told the judge that he was too old to be able to have a valid opinion by suggesting 50 years in the industry is too much.

Speaking with the press after the show, many of Maks' fellow dancers have refused to side with him, saying that he totally jumped the gun with his outburst, AceShowbiz reports.

“We danced right after Maks so I just wanted to make sure that the judges made sure that we didn't concur with Maks' opinion... He needs a hug,” Karina Smirnoff says.

Lacey Schwimmer, who once more landed at the bottom with Chaz Bono, refused to take sides, saying only that Maks “spoke his opinion and he should be allowed to do it.”

Derek Hough, on the other hand, believes Maks made a huge mistake by lashing out because he will have now to suffer the consequences.

“Sometimes you do take things personally... I did that one time with Shannon Elizabeth. I went off. And I thought, 'Oh my goodness, I can't ever do that again!' I felt like the judges have been incredibly generous this season so I was surprised,” he explained.

For his part, Maks is aware that he came on a bit too strong, but he insists he's standing by what he said.

“This is the first time she [Hope Solo] came out and she did exactly what she planned and there was no stress and no tension and it was a great performance... And to get comments that was the opposite of what it was, it wasn't even upsetting, it was more like, 'I have had enough!' You have an opinion. I also have an opinion,” he says.

He doesn't plan on apologizing because he stood up for his partner and, he says, he doesn't care what judges make of a routine as long as audiences love it.

Below is his outburst.
