Felipe Massa Defends Schumacher

Michael Schumacher was called "a liar and a cheat" by Jacques Villeneuve, earlier last week

Michael Schumacher has been the center of many media attack over the past years. Ever since he started winning championships inside the Great Circle, the German seemed to attract anger from most of his opponents. His "cowardly" maneuvers against Damon Hill
and Jacques Villeneuve in the '90s have made him one of Formula One's "black sheep".

Juan Pablo Montoya and Jacques Villeneuve are just a few of those who launched media attacks on the German. This year, though, the Ferrari driver seems to have gotten rid of both. Montoya chose NASCAR instead of Formula One, while Villeneuve was not offered an extension with BMW.

The Canadian driver - former world champion in 1997 - didn't take it too good. Actually, he was the one who asked the Grand Prix Drivers Association to kick the German out for careless driving in the Monte Carlo GP earlier this year.

Now, almost 3 months away, the Canadian accused Michael Schumacher of being a liar. More, Villeneuve said that: "his real problem is that no one can really see what his true personality looks like. He's nothing but a cheat. Everybody will forget about him when he'll leave Formula One".

And it was time for Schumacher's teammate to step in and defend the German. Italian Felipe Massa - who was praised by Schumi for his great performances in the last 4 races - returned the favor to Michael earlier today. When hearing about Villeneuve's accusations, Massa talked back.

"Jacques is a good driver, but I think he's just envious of Michael. My teammate is too good and he does everything perfect. He's an incredible driver and I think that's what pisses many off", stated Massa.
