A Metro app could be released sometimes in the near future

Feedly is currently considered the number one replacement for the soon-to-be-retired Google Reader, but Windows 8 users are more or less being left out from this transition.

Feedly currently works with both Firefox and Google Chrome, so customers of Microsoft’s new operating system still using Internet Explorer 10 have no other option than to install one of these two browsers.

But according to founder Edwin Khodabakchian, Feedly might soon land on Windows 8, even though it’s not yet clear whether the company is working on a Metro app or on an Internet Explorer 10 plug-in to access the service.

“We are working on something really interesting in this area. Please stay tuned,” Khodabakchian said in a short reply to PocketTables’ Michael Archambault.

While a Metro app would be quite helpful for Windows 8 users, chances are the Feedly is working on Internet Explorer 10 support, just to make sure everybody is capable of accessing the service.
