Another week passed by, but with many good things happening in the Fedora world. A new Spin was born, the Fedora 8 Xfce Spin, making two categories of users happy: those who love Fedora and those who love the Xfce desktop environment. The third round for Fedora 9 Artwork has started, and the Fedora Ambassadors Wall was announced. These are only a few of the goodies brought by this week, but the list is much bigger. Read on and find more about the happenings in the Fedora world!

The Fedora 8 Xfce Spin is a brand-new clean-looking LiveCD distribution, available for x86 and x86_64 architectures. It comes equipped with Firefox 2.0, Claws Mail, Pidgin and much more! Of course, it's very fast, thanks to the Xfce desktop environment. I think you should try it out, so download the ISO image from here.

Francesco Ugolini, talking about the Fedora Ambassadors Wall, posted on his blog the message he sent to Fedora Ambassadors List, in which he said :"In the last three years the number of ambassadors grew a lot, not only in the quantity but in the quality: there are software engineers, creative, marketing specialists, students, security experts and hobbyists. Each person arrived here with his/her background, with different reasons and different goals, but with a unique great passion for Fedora and the Open Source in general. Now it's time to create a place where each person can describe with few words what he/she thinks about Ambassadors Project and Fedora Project in general, starting from his/her vision of Ambassadors to his/her opinion about Fedora. It would be marvelous to create some posters that will be displayed in the events with the people words, the best way to describe ourselves."

If you are a Fedora Ambassador, you can write the notes in your own native language, but with a translation of it in English.

Nicu Buculei announced the end of the second round for choosing the default desktop artwork in Fedora 9. Two of the designs met the requirements and qualified for Round 3: Waves, proposed by Martin Sourada and modified into Sulfuric Waves by Mairin Duffy, and Shoowa, proposed by Luya Tshimbalanga.
