The Fedora BugZappers project was relaunched

Another week passed by, but not in vain! Fedora BugZappers was relaunched, an online magazine called "Revista Fedora Brasil" was started by Brazilian Fedora Ambassadors and Linux community members and a few security advisories were created.

Built on the success of the recent "gcc43 rebuild triage effort," the Fedora Bug Triage Process was relaunched, to increase the "first line of defense" for Fedora developers against the bugs. In the announcement, Jon Stanley said : "Bug triagers are the first line of defense for Fedora developers. We strive to make it easy for developers to focus on bugs that are worth their precious time (so that hopefully they will have more time for resolving your bugs). We do this by performing simple tasks like requesting additional information to clarify reported problems and verify that the bug is filed correctly, and verifying the bug is not a duplicate of one already filed." So, don't wait any longer, if you want to contribute to the development of Fedora, report all the bugs you might encounter in your daily use.

Because of the growing number of inactive persons in the Art group, Mairin Duffy proposed a policy for new admissions, which was immediately accepted by everyone. Martin Sourada posted on the Fedora Art List an update for Nodoka, the default GNOME theme used in Fedora. The new version contains a lot of bug fixes and improvements. This was released just in time for the Beta edition of Fedora 9, so you can enjoy a much better theme in case you want to test the Beta. The stable Fedora 9 will be available on the of 29th April, this year.

Now, let's move on to the security updates. For Fedora 7 we have:

■ roundup-1.4.4-1.fc7 ■ horde-3.1.7-1.fc7 ■ ruby-1.8.6.114-1.fc7 ■ dovecot-1.0.13-18.fc7

Those for Fedora 8 are:

■ horde-3.1.7-1.fc8 ■ ruby-1.8.6.114-1.fc8 ■ dovecot-1.0.13-6.fc8 ■ roundup-1.4.4-1.fc8 ■ boost-1.34.1-7.fc8
