Fedora Utils, a tool allowing users to install codecs and additional software, fix problems, tweak and cleanup the operating system, view system information and much more with just few clicks, is now at version 3.0.0.

Highlights of Fedora Utils 3.0.0:

• A new icon has been added;
• Libraries are now more modular;
• PolicyKit dialog is not shown while executing custom command or help;
• When removing old kernels, the application now asks for confirmation.

The installation is pretty fast forward and can be done through a terminal. Just enter the following command:

su -c "curl http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/satya164:/fedorautils/Fedora_17/home:satya164:fedorautils.repo -o /etc/yum.repos.d/fedorautils.repo && yum install fedorautils"

If you are using Fedora 17, then you will also need to install the patched zenity. Open a terminal and enter the following command:

su -c "curl http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/satya164:/zenity/Fedora_17/home:satya164:zenity.repo -o /etc/yum.repos.d/zenity.repo && yum update zenity"

A backlog of updates and new features can be found in the official announcement.
