Fedora Unity Project Launches Fedora 8 Re-Spins

Although Fedora 9 is nearing its launch, people keep making Re-Spins for Fedora 8. The Fedora Unity Project has launched new Re-Spins (DVD and CD Sets).

The Re-Spin ISOs are based on the official Fedora 8 installation media, with all the updates available since March 31st, this year. They are available for i386, x86_64 and PPC architectures.

A complete x86_64 install with many optional packages requires more than 768 MB of RAM rather than 512 MB, as recommended at first. Also, in rescue mode you cannot use the ftp utility because of a missing library, libreadline.so.5.

The problem with the missing kickstart file during unattended installation was fixed. Fedora Unity will provide Re-Spins for users who want to have Fedora with all the updates already included.
