Now, this is one great piece of news for all Fedora Linux and Cinnamon lovers, as it appears that the next major release of Fedora will come with an official Cinnamon Spin.

As you might know, the default desktop environment of Fedora Linux is GNOME, but official Spins with the MATE, KDE, Xfce, Sugar, and LXDE desktops exist. So, a Fedora Spin using the awesome Cinnamon desktop environment is just what the doctor ordered.

It looks like all the steps were already taken in order to make the Fedora Cinnamon Spin official for the upcoming Fedora 23 Linux distribution, due for release later this year, most probably at the end of October or beginning of November.

The benefit of a Cinnamon Spin for Fedora is that users will have easy access to a popular desktop alternative to GNOME 3. The fact of the matter is that Cinnamon is forked from GNOME Shell and provides a traditional desktop layout with advanced innovative features.

As the Cinnamon desktop environment is already available in the main Fedora Linux software repositories, we see no reason for the Fedora Cinnamon Spin not to be approved. I personally, would love to install this on my laptop. What do you think?
