Robyn Bergeron, the Fedora Project leader, proudly announced a few minutes ago, November 16, the codename for the upcoming Fedora 19 operating system, due for release next year.

Without any further ado, the codename for the upcoming Fedora 19 Linux operating system will be Schrödinger's Cat, which won with 1876 votes.

Other possible names were Higgs Boson, Tiddalik, Loch Ness Monster, Newtonian Dynamics, Martian Blueberries, Parabolic Potassium and Cubical Calf.

"The Fedora 19 release name is: Schrödinger's Cat. I'd like to give a hearty "thank you" to those in the Fedora Project community who proposed names and participated in voting." - said Robyn Bergeron in the mailinglist announcement.

At the moment we have no information about the release schedule or the goals for Fedora 19 (Schrödinger's Cat), but we will announce them as soon as the information becomes available.
