The first Alpha version of Fedora 19 (Schrödinger's cat) will be arriving this week, despite the problems reported just a few days ago.

Fedora releases have always been plagued by problems and delays, and it seemed that Fedora 19 could suffer the same fate.

“At the Fedora 19 Alpha Go/No-Go Meeting that just occurred, it was agreed to Go with the Fedora 19 Alpha by Fedora QA, release engineering, FPL, FPGM and development.

“Fedora 19 Alpha will be publicly available on Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Many thanks to everyone who helped with this release, our cat seems to be pretty alive,” stated Red Hat’s Jaroslav Reznik.

The developers have managed to overcome the UEFI problems reported last week. Be sure to check Softpedia for a download link, when the distribution will be officially launched.
