The first alpha of Fedora 19 "Schrödinger's Cat" has been released and GNOME rules once again the charge.

Fedora 19 Alpha "Schrödinger's Cat" has very crisp and clean GNOME desktop. It follows the same trend like the default GNOME experience. Only the background has been changed in order to reflect the distribution.

The distro is based on GNOME 3.8 and most of the applications are up to date. Users will be able to get a taste of the old classic mode by installing Mate 1.6 (a GNOME 2 fork).

“GNOME 3.8 brings new applications such as clock and improvements to the desktop including privacy and sharing settings, ordered search, and frequent applications overview” reads the release announcement.

As usual, you can download Fedora 19 Alpha from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
