Robyn Bergeron, the new leader of the Fedora Project, proudly announced on April 30th the codename for the upcoming Fedora 18 operating system, due for release this autumn.

Without any further ado, the codename for the Fedora 18 Linux operating system will be Spherical Cow, which won with 1359 votes.

Other possible names were Halva, Chamoy, Pamukkale, Tandoori Chicken, Frankfurter, Pop Soda, and Ketchy Ketchup.

"Thank you to everyone who participated in voting for the Fedora 18 release name. The name for Fedora 18, the follow-up to Beefy Miracle, is: Spherical Cow" - said Robyn Bergeron in the mailinglist announcement.

At the moment we have no information about the release schedule or the goals for Fedora 18 (Spherical Cow), but we will announce it as soon as we know it.
