The Fedora development team has announced the immediate availability for download of the first Beta version of the upcoming Fedora 18 operating system for the ARM architecture.

The ARM architecture is starting to get some traction and quite a few major distributions have released versions for it.

“We invite you to download the Fedora 18 Beta release and provide your valuable input to the Fedora ARM team,” states the official announcement.

According to the developers, the Beta version includes pre-built images for Versatile Express (QEMU), Trimslice (Tegra), Pandaboard (OMAP4), GuruPlug (Kirkwood), and Beagleboard (OMAP3) hardware platforms.
