OpenStack, XAPI, JBoss Application Server 7 and CUPS colord will be integrated

On the Fedora Engineering Steering Committee (FESCo) meeting that took place last week, the Fedora developers approved even more features for the upcoming Fedora 17 (Beefy Miracle) release, as follows:

· Revamped Fedora 17 Live CD; · OpenStack Essex; · Cloudstack integration; · Support for Eucalyptus; · Updated cluster stack; · Support for CUPS colord; · Support for vSwitch; · Hot-spots, VLAN, IP-over-Infiniband, and bridging support in NetworkManager; · Better power management; · Support for live block migration in KVM guests; · Support for PMU virtualization in KVM guests; · Integration of XAPI (Xen API tool-stack); · Support for JBoss Application Server 7; · Thin client provisioning improvements; · Support for network zones; · Firewalld as the default firewall; · Darkserver.

The development cycle of the Fedora 17 (Beefy Miracle) operating system will have an Alpha and a Beta release. The final version will be unleashed sometime in May or June 2012.
