An Apple Discussions poster reveals that FedEx staffers might have tampered with his new MacBook Pro. According to the post, “MacBook Pro Received Today and Tampered With,” Apple is taking care of everything so that the customer gets a new notebook as soon as possible, even though FedEx was to blame for the mishap.

“Couldn't wait til 10:30 this morning and finally received my new MacBook Pro by FedEx,” says pcmommy. “Noticed the FedEx Box was taped up with FedEx tape, hmmmm. Waited a bit to open. When I did I first noticed that the seal had been broken and was not even there but was sticky and dirty like it had been ripped off. Opened the box and the MacBook Pro was upside down and the plastic ripped open (the seal broken), MAN!! this [expletive] me off,” he adds.

“Right away, I called Apple and supposedly they will send me another one overnight as soon as FedEx takes delivery of this one,” pcmommy explained. “I am disgusted! You pay so much for something and to have it come to you this way - I would like to know what employee at FedEx was curious... I was really looking forward to playing with my new pro tonight... the fact that someone else violated my new MBP makes my gut hurt... I wonder if they are opening other boxes too,” the upset customer's post ends.

As always, Apple promptly responded to the user's complaint. This isn't surprising anymore, but it's great to see that Apple is keeping up the good work, even monitoring Apple Discussions forums lately. What is surprising, though, is that Apple support didn't tell the customer to take his grievances over to FedEx. Maybe Apple knows there's a slight possibility one of its staffers is peeking inside MBP boxes. What do you think?
