The hacktivists say they've launched a DDOS attack against the site

FedCenter.gov, the US federal government portal for comprehensive environmental stewardship and compliance assistance information, is down. Anonymous hacktivists claim to have launched a distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attack against it.

The “tango down” was announced around three hours ago by the Anon_Central Twitter account, the one that was temporarily hijacked earlier today by Rustle League.

It’s uncertain if the DDOS attack launched against FedCenter.gov is part of any operation. It might be part of OpLastResort, but that’s only because the site belongs to the US government.

The latest victims of Anonymous’ OpLastResort are the US Department of State and investment firm George K. Baum and Company, which the hackers accuse of being linked to think tank Stratfor.

Earlier this week, hacktivists leaked data from both organizations.

“Our reasons for this attack are very simple. You've imprisoned or either censored our people. We will not tolerate things as such. You don't see us going around censoring everything that is inappropriate or we do not like,” Anonymous said at the time.
