Earlier this month, you were able to read about a collaboration between Microsoft and Saks Fifth Avenue in order to bring Windows 7 RTM to the core of the holidays. The Redmond company and the New York City landmark of commerce have moved onward with their partnership and users will be able to see the results via the images included in this article, this in the eventuality in which they will be unable to make it to Saks. It was Brandon LeBlanc, Windows Communications manager on the Windows Client Communications Team, that initially announced a Windows 7-powered holiday for Saks.

“This holiday, Saks Fifth Avenue and Windows 7 are working together to bring the magic of the season to life. For the first time, the legendary Saks Fifth Avenue’s holiday windows will be powered by Windows 7. Additionally, Saks customers will have the opportunity to interact with the newly launched Windows 7 in store through PC lounges,” LeBlanc stated at the time.

The images, made public by the Redmond company, are designed to indicate just how Windows 7 managed to be melted into the 2009 holiday windows experience for Saks. Microsoft referred to the collaboration as a technology assist Windows 7. The latest Windows client from Microsoft plays an integral role in the scenes from Saks’ holiday children’s book, “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Flake” that are features in the store windows.

Children visiting the store with their parents will be swept away into the world of a snowflake named Twinkle, through 20 video monitors offered by Microsoft, all powered by Windows 7, which will display animations of scenes in the story. “Along with the display windows, Saks and Microsoft have created interactive in-store lounges for shoppers. The specially constructed lounges feature Windows 7-based PCs, with Microsoft experts on hand to answer questions about the software and hardware,” Microsoft added.

Saks Fifth Avenue unveiled the new Christmas windows on November 23rd and people present enjoyed an appearance by Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth.
