Current TV has announced that Will Wright, who is best known to video game players as the creator of such franchises like The Sims and Sim City and the leader of Maxis, will be working with the company to create a new television series which will rely heavily on interactivity with the audience.

The new project is now called Bar Karma and will use technology created by Will Wright in order to allow the people watching at home to create storylines for the show and then vote on them in order to select a winner.

The show will have a half hour episode each week.

It seems that the producers will create a wide outline for the show each week but the viewers will be asked to join in and actually flesh out the story, using the Bar karma website.

Members of the show fan community can change details and mix elements from different users with voting determining the final shape of the show.

Will Wright has stated, "Bar Karma is a culmination of over a year's work and I am very excited to see the results as we join together not only gamers and television viewers, but actually create a community that will be empowered with a professional production team.”

He added, To develop and lead an initiative like this fulfills a long held passion for television, and I am thrilled that Current would provide the resources and creative support to bring this to air.”

Will Wright has left Maxis lat year, after the official launch of The Sims 3, and talked about focusing on his Stupid Fun Club initiative, focusing on creating and testing new video game ideas.

Earlier in the year it was reported that Will Wright is also involved with the Science Travel, creating programmers that detail topics such as new worlds, the shape of the future and time travel.
