Fatal Fury: Battle Archives Volume 1 is a video game that was developed by the SNK Corporation and was then published by SNK Playmore Corp.

The game was released exclusively on the PlayStation 2 home gaming console from Sony and was launched in July 2006.

The title is a compilation of titles that were launched earlier, all in the fighting game genre and played from a third-person perspectives or in a side-scrolling mode, with a strong anime and arcade element included.

The package will deliver to fighting game lovers the following titles:

Fatal Fury
Fatal Fury 2
Fatal Fury 3: Road to the Final Victory!
Fatal Fury Special

All the games are converted from the Neo Geo versions.

The graphics quality has not been enhanced too much, but there's support for remapping the controls and for customization of the sprite palette.

The compilation received pretty mediocre reviews from the press.

CHEATS

Expert mode

Press Left, Right, Left, Right(2), Left, Right, Left at the "How To Play" screen in order to get Expert Mode, one which will test even the most battle hardened players.

UNLOCKABLES

Fight as Ryuji Yamazaki and the Jin twins

Enter the character selection screen but don't rush to actually pick a fighter.

Highlight the following characters in the exact order suggested and press X before moving on to the next person. A sound will be heard each time X is pressed confirming that the input has been received correctly: Terry, Hon Fu, Mai, Geese, Bob, Sokaku Mochizuki, Andy, France, Joe Higashi, and Blue Mary.

The portrait for Ryuji and the Jin twins will appear on the character selection screen to confirm correct code entry and the player will then be able to select and use them in fights.
