Airgo Networks announced that Alienware has unveiled two new laptops featuring Gen3 True MIMO technology from Airgo - Aurora m9700 and Aurora mALX.

As the 17-inch Aurora m9700 and 19-inch Aurora mALX notebooks from Alienware are built around AMD's Turion 64 X2 mobile technology multi-core processor, Airgo's Gen3 True MIMO chipsets and Nvidia's dual SLI graphics processors, they provide users with faster-than-Ethernet wireless networking speeds. Both products are perfect for high performance wireless gaming with complete coverage of the entire house space.

Airgo's True MIMO technology has been adopted as the core of the new IEEE 802.11n MIMO interoperability standard.

Products featuring Airgo True MIMO Gen3 are fully 802.11a/b/g compatible, Wi-Fi certified, and can be used with any other Wi-Fi certified 802.11 device on a network.

Airgo's third generation True MIMO chipset supports TCP/IP networking throughput of more than 140Mbps with uncompressed traffic, surpassing the performance of wired 100BaseT Ethernet.

The results of a third party testing showed that Airgo's Gen 3 True MIMO products are proven to substantially outperform any other chipset offering in the Wi-Fi market, with faster speed, longer range and higher reliability. In addition, Airgo's True MIMO Gen3 chipset features three integrated radios, resulting in a reduction of power consumption.
