The Sims Studio and publisher Electronic Arts have announced that this fall will witness the launch of the Fast Lane Stuff pack for The Sims 3, which aims to deliver the thrills and danger associated with fast cars to the life simulation game. Eager fans can preorder the new content now on the EA Store and retail stores will carry a boxed version when the launch date rolls around.

The Sims 3 Fast Lane Stuff package will deliver four different lifestyle options linked to cars: racing, which focuses on speed, intrigue, rockability and classic luxury. Each of the styles will introduce new and unique items that can be used by any Sim and unique vehicles they can drive around, generating envy or hilarity around the neighborhood.

The new content pack will also introduce the options to add a garage to any house, where racing cars, street cars and motorcycles can be kept. The garage can also be outfitted with tool boxes, work benches, neon signs and trophy cases. When working on the cars, players can even choose to wear a classic jumpsuit complete with sponsor logos.

The Sims 3 is one of the biggest sellers on the PC market at the moment, getting two full expansions and numerous other content packs. Electronic Arts is using the same strategy as for the first two titles in the long running series, offering gamers more options linked to their characters, virtual homes and neighborhoods and allowing them to choose which is interesting enough to warrant a buy decision.

EA has also announced that The Sims will be coming to home gaming consoles, like the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, during the fall of this year. There are also plans to release a three-dimensional version of the simulation game for the Nintendo 3DS.
