About two weeks from now, fast food giant Burger King will debut an uncanny yet utterly and completely irresistible perfume. Well, irresistible to those who happen to be big fans of burgers.
The perfume, pictured below, will retail as the Flame-Grilled. This is because it will smell just like the fast food chain's Whopper Burger, whose recipe includes flame-grilled beef, onion slices, lettuce and mayonnaise.
Sadly, you'll have to travel to Japan to get a bottle
It is understood that Burger King's new fragrance will only be made available to fast food enthusiasts in Japan. Here, guys and gals who love the chain's Whopper Burger so much that they wish they could smell like one all day long will be able to pick up a bottle from the nearest Burger King Restaurant.
The Flame-Grilled will sell for 5,000 yen (about €39 / $42) a bottle. The fast food chain promises that, on one very special day that is yet to be revealed, those who buy the perfume will get a complementary Whopper Burger, probably to compare scents.
Back in 2008, Burger King launched one other odd fragrance, i.e. Flame, that supposedly had a just a slight hint of flame-broiled meat. Although plenty of people jumped at the chance to buy a bottle, the fast food chain one day simply stopped making it.
It could be that Burger King is just messing with us
What's odd is that Burger King's Flame-Grilled perfume is scheduled to make its debut in Japan precisely on April 1, a day of pranks and practical jokes, otherwise known as April Fools' Day. For this very simple reason, some believe Burger King is just messing with people.
The fast food chain insists that this is not the case and that it will really and truly launch its much-advertised bee-scented perfume on the very first day of April, The Week reports. Well, we'll just have to wait and see whether Burger King is lying to us or not.
