It looks as if the flash drive market is in full swing as more and more USB compatible flash data drives are appearing from a variety of manufacturing companies. From the simple and basic products to the fully rugged and fast offering, the entire market is booming and producers are trying to make the best of it. One of the relatively new comers on the flash drive market, OCZ Technology Group, has just announced the launch of two flash drives that are distancing themselves from the competition as they offer a fully rugged design and turbo fast data transferring speeds.

According to the manufacturing company these two new flash drives are the ultimate products when it comes to ultra-high performance and high

reliability memories as the new ATV and ATV Turbo are ruggedized storage solutions for professionals, students and gamers on the go. "The OCZ ATV series is designed to operate under harsh environments with its shock and water-proof design," states Jacky Huang, VP of Product Management at OCZ. "Besides its all-terrain nature, we also built this device with all the latest storage technology to make it truly cater to the most performance-demanding power users with its fast read/write speeds."

The ATV flash drive combines a shock proof design with mainstream data transferring speeds and affordable price tag with the ability to safely store and handle important data and media files. Apart from being faster than the most other flash drives out there, the ATV drive from OCZ is optimized for use with the Microsoft Windows Vista's ReadyBoost technology so it can be used to boost the performance of the host computer system. The ATV comes with a durable and colorful rubber housing which is 100 percent waterproof in order to keep the stored information safe in all conditions while the chain attached cap holder will prevent users from accidentally misplacing it. Like all other flash memory drives in use today, the ATV is fully compatible with the high speed USB 2.0 standard while maintaining backward compatibility with the USB 1.0 and USB 1.1 standards. The OCZ ATV flash memory drive is available in the following storage sizes 2GB, 4GB and 8GB with an orange LED based status light and a lifetime warranty.
The OCZ ATV Turbo is the second flash memory device launched by OCZ now and it can be considered the high end solution when it comes to USB based and portable storage solutions. The ATV Turbo comes with aggressive data transferring speeds as well as optimization for Vista's ReadyBoost technology. This drive too features colorful and durable waterproof rubber casing, together with a chain linked cap holder. It is compatible with the high speed USB 2.0 standard and it can reach data read speeds of up to 35MB per second while writing speeds are going up to 30MB per second. The OCZ ATV Turbo drive is only available as a 4GB data storage device and it too comes with a lifetime warranty.
