In case your Farming Simulator progress is impaired by the lack of a proper hardware peripheral, you'll be pleased to know that you're not the only one pining for a better way to pilot those damned tractors.

Saitek and Giants Software have partnered up to create the first ever dedicated, custom Farming Simulator hardware.

"Forget about using racing wheels to play Farming Simulator, you'll be driving your vehicle with a properly tilted, center sprung steering wheel with 900 degrees of turning and a wheel turning knob—just like the real thing," the official announcement reads.

Farming Simulator is often ridiculed in the gaming community, being offered as an example of a snoozefest, but nonetheless it has a pretty strong following, and many gamers are enjoying a break from the busy city life with some simulated busy country life.

The state-of-the-art upcoming hardware also has mini-stick controls on the wheel, in order to provide a simple and useful way to control your movement when outside the vehicle, as well as real buttons that you can use on the in-game PDA.

In addition to this, the wheel also comes with gas and brake pedals, as per industry standards. But the real kicker here is the exclusive Vehicle Side Panel that Saitek is creating, giving you full control over your vehicles.

The Front Loader Control Stick will offer you a precise way to control your vehicle attachments, and a host of programmable buttons will let you attach, detach and switch tools painlessly, as well as reverse, control your lights and use your horn to signal your glorious farming exploits.

The upcoming hardware will go through a lengthy development phase, in order to make sure that the end result offers the best possible experience, and that the companies will deliver what players want.

Both Saitek and Giants Software will periodically ask the community for feedback and opinions on design features and other such decisions, and regular behind the curtain peeks will be offered.

The tractor controls will be fully compatible with all future releases, as well as with Farming Simulator 2013 and 2015. If you want to be kept in the loop, you can register your interest on the dedicated page on Saitek's website.

Fir the time being, there is no prospective release date on the wheel, and no information regarding pricing.
