The development team at Ubisoft announces that the PlayStation 4 version of the upcoming Far Cry 4 will include a new mechanic that will see every gamer who buys the title get access to 10 special keys that he can share with friends.

Those who receive one will be able to join the player for 2 hours of cooperative play without owning the game and with no other restrictions.

The company states, "Though all the main story missions are turned off when you play co-op, everything else will be open – challenges, outposts and much more. Anything you can dream up, you and a friend can do. And now, you can bring your buddy along even if they don’t own a copy of Far Cry 4."

The mechanic is also offered on the PlayStation 3 but does not work across the two devices.

A second Gamescom 2014 trailer for the title also shows the kinds of enemies that gamers can battle, including some mythical ones, and a white tiger can be persuaded to join the player in his battles.

Far Cry 4 will be out on November 18 in the US and November 20 in Europe and gamers can pick it up for the PC, the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and last-gen consoles.
