A brand new video from developer Ubisoft presents some of the intense moments that gamers will be able to experience in Far Cry 4, the upcoming entry in the highly popular first-person shooter franchise.

Far Cry 4 throws players in the middle of a civil war set in a wild mountainous region. Gamers step into the shoes of Ajay Ghale, a native of the fictional country of Kyrat, returning to his Himalayan birthplace in order to scatter his mother's ashes.

As luck has it, you bump into Pagan Min, a slightly sociopathic dictator, and embark on an exciting adventure that will have you trek across the Himalayas pursuing multiple story threads, discovering the living world that developer Ubisoft Montreal prepared for your enjoyment.

A wealth of memorable opportunities

The war-torn region is plagued by a brutal civil war, but the incredible storylines waiting to be discovered will enable you to make a difference and to uncover everything about the wild and beautiful Kyrat.

Ubisoft has released a new video showing various gameplay sequences, with Game Director Pat Methe discussing his five favorite moments from Far Cry 4, complemented by some of the furious, over-the-top footage that will make you feel like an '80s action hero.

The variety of content in the upcoming shooter will translate into a lot of unique, unexpected, heart-pounding moments, such as running into predatory wildlife while sneaking through the bushes, only to find yourself in a bigger peril than the one you were trying to avoid, or jumping out of moving vehicles and letting them crash into enemy outposts and explode, taking out several enemies.

An exciting moment-to-moment experience

In addition to this, Sony Computer Entertainment of America's Social Media Specialist, Ryan Clements, also reveals some of the most exciting features of Far Cry 4, in an entry on the PlayStation Blog.

Improving on the experience of Far Cry 3, the fourth installment in the series will present some of the story through emergent open-world missions that will pop up when you run into Pagan Min's troops while roaming the map.

In addition to this, you'll find plenty of side quests to pursue while exploring villages and temples, aiding the people of Kyrat in the fight against the merciless oppressor, or simply racing on dirt roads for glory and cash.

As you play the hero throughout Kyrat, you'll be able to learn new skills, divided into two different paths, that of the tiger, focusing on combat and guns, and that of the elephant, more focused on defensive abilities.

Furthermore, aside from the patented encounters with killer goats and the like, Far Cry 4 will also enable gamers to explore protagonist Ajay Ghale's story, his ancestry, and his spiritual connection to the gorgeous land where it all goes down, tying together open-world gameplay and story much more organically than in Far Cry 3.

The first-person shooter is coming out on November 18 in North America and on November 20 in Europe, available on PC, on the PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4 home consoles from Sony, and on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One computer entertainment systems from Microsoft.
