Gamers should report any new issues to the company

The development team at Ubisoft in charge of Far Cry 4 is getting ready to deliver a second major patch for the recently launched open world shooter, and the studio is also looking to hear more from the gamers who are experiencing issues with the game that have not been already addressed.

The company says that most gamers who picked up the title are not having any trouble at the moment and the launch experience was smoother than initially expected.

Those who are not satisfied with the way Far Cry 4 works are advised to first double check if the first patch for the video game, which was offered on launch date on all platforms, has been correctly downloaded and installed.

Ubisoft claims on a live updates blog that at the moment some PC gamers are reporting crashes which look like a black screen that cannot be exited.

They state, “We have been able to reproduce this internally. While we are just starting to investigate this, our initial findings suggest that this may be the result of the presence of certain peripherals that are causing conflicts.”

A clear list of the devices impacted is not offered at the moment.

On the PlayStation 3, the most frequent problem is linked to the message that reads “Game Data is corrupt. Please delete FC3 game data.”

The issue also appears on machines where Far Cry 3 was not installed correctly and Ubisoft is currently searching for more details about it.

Finally, some players have problems with pre-order content redemption.

Patch 2 for Far Cry 4 is coming soon

At the moment, the development team at Ubisoft is working on a second full patch for Far Cry 4, which is coming soon but does not yet have an official launch date.

The changes are designed to eliminate freezes and frame drops which are linked to the uPlay service, and the HairWorks functionality is fully enabled for those who are using a GeForce GTX.

Ubisoft is saying that all gamers who are having issues other than the ones mentioned above or in the patch 2 changelog need to try and reproduce their problems and then notify the company, so that they can research them and include a fix for them in a future update for the shooter.

The launch of Far Cry 4 has gone much smoother than that of Assassin’s Creed Unity, which is at the moment still plagued by framerate drops on all platforms.
