Alex Hutchinson, Far Cry 4's creative director, confirmed that the upcoming first-person shooter would have vehicles in its competitive multiplayer mode.

The reveal comes from the show floor at Gamescom 2014, where Eurogamer met up with Hutchinson and questioned him regarding the upcoming title's multiplayer.

So far, developer Ubisoft has been pretty quiet regarding Far Cry 4's multiplayer mode, but it appears that everything is coming along just fine, and that fans of the series will be pleased by what the game has to offer.

"The guys have been working on it for a couple of years now, I think it's the best multiplayer we've had in Far Cry for sure," Hutchinson revealed.

Furthermore, he also mentioned that the game would also ship with a level editor, and that the team spent a lot of time making sure that it was as easy to use and robust as possible, in order for fans to be able to effortlessly create and share content.

"You can build an outpost in about five minutes if you know what you're doing, and then just hit play and be dropped into it, so, again, looking forward to seeing what people come up with," Hutchinson stated.

Finally, the Creative Director talked a bit about the Arena feature, revealing that it was almost like a mini-game, where one of the antagonists was running a combat arena somewhere in the game world, and you could go there and engage in its trials whenever you wanted, and that it also crossed over with the story in a few different ways.

"Lots of the fun in the game is you solving a problem in lots of different ways, so it's sort of dumping you in the middle of an animal, weapon and enemy fight, letting you figure it out," he shared.

The upcoming Far Cry 4 looks very interesting and stunning from a visual standpoint, and the mountain vistas that players will be able to enjoy are alone worth the game.

Fortunately, as the series has accustomed us, there will be a wealth of content for players to explore, from base jumping to raiding enemy outposts in helicopters and charging through fortified positions while riding an elephant.

In addition to this, the upcoming first-person shooter aims to blend its open-world gameplay with the storyline more seamlessly, and not have players feel as disjointed as they would often feel while playing Far Cry 3.

Far Cry 4 is coming out on November 18 in North America and Europe, and November 20 in Australasia, headed for the Windows PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 platforms.
