Far Cry 3, besides featuring a deep story that touches on all sorts of issues, will also have an impressive online mode that’s reportedly made by Ubisoft Massive, the studio behind the popular World in Conflict strategy game who also worked on the multiplayer in Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.

Ubisoft is getting ready to deploy a brand new installment in the Far Cry series, in the form of Far Cry 3. We've already seen quite a few screenshots and videos of the new shooter, but the first details about the multiplayer are now appearing.

Judging by two Twitter posts from the gaming media present at Ubisoft’s press gathering at last week’s Game Developers Conference, via CVG, the shooter’s online mode is in development at Ubisoft Massive.

The studio, which fully worked on World in Conflict and helped out on last year’s Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, is going to make an “online universe” for the game that includes elements from the social and independent gaming scenes.

No official details are known as of yet, so expect an actual announcement from Ubisoft later this year, ahead of Far Cry 3’s September launch.
