Ubisoft has just revealed some more details about Far Cry 3, its upcoming first person shooter, including an actual release date in September, as well as a new cinematic trailer that shed some light on the story of the game.

The Far Cry games have distinguished themselves as opposed to other first person shooter by special mechanics and stunning graphics. We’ve already seen the third game, Far Cry 3, in action last year, after it was revealed during E3 2011.

Now, Ubisoft has finally revealed a brand new trailer for its upcoming shooter, showcasing some of the events that lead to the start of the actual game.

As you can see above, Far Cry 3 focuses on a group of three friends who end up on a tropical island inhabited by some nasty looking individuals. They’re quickly abducted, as the natives kidnap the girl of the group and kill one of the guys. The last survivor escapes and is now trying to find his friend while staying alive on the island.

While the video is quite impressive in and of itself, the most important thing is that it finally mentions a release date of September 4, in North America, and September 7, in Europe, when the game is released for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
