Ubisoft Montreal, the developer of the upcoming Far Cry 3 title, acknowledges that PCs these days are more powerful than consoles, and will allow the game to look very good, but emphasized that consoles are also going to get a beautiful experience in the form of the new shooter.

Ubisoft's Far Cry series has made a name for itself by pushing platforms to its limits with wide open worlds and realistic environments.

We've already heard the developer brag about the title's visual features, and now, lead designer for Far Cry 3, Jamie Keen, talked with VideoGamer about the difference between PCs and consoles and how it will translate for the new title.

"The PC does have a lot more grunt under the hood - or it can have grunt - so there's a lot more that we can push there. That doesn't mean to say, 'Let's only push PC and leave the consoles behind.' We will keep pushing to get as much out of the consoles as we possibly can."

This doesn't mean platforms like the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 are going to be stuck with a mediocre version of Far Cry 3, as Keen highlights that "people will be surprised" by how good the game looks on those devices.

"That's why we're making no bones about this being on PC, and everything that goes along with that. There are going to be areas where the consoles aren't going to be able to push things as much as the PC can. So, there is going to be a difference, but as much as we can minimize that gap, we're certainly working as hard as we possibly can to do that."

Far Cry 3 is current scheduled to appear on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 next year, from Ubisoft.
