Yves Guillemot, the leader of video game publisher Ubisoft, says that the success of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, which has managed to sell more than 1 million units worldwide, might mean that a number of smaller AAA games could be launched in the coming years.

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is another title that has also shown that a good game, even if launched only via digital distribution channels, can make a profit for the company, according to Game Informer.

Guillemot also says that Ubisoft might actually repackage Blood Dragon and launch it at retail in order to give more players an idea of what the experience has to offer.

After the Far Cry 3 spin-off was launched, its creative director talked about his wish to work on an actual sequel.

Ubisoft is also thought to be working on a sequel to the core Far Cry series, ready for next-gen consoles.
