Terminator posters and VHS tapes allowed the team to focus

The team at Ubisoft working on Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon says that the entire game experience is designed to mix elements of the ‘80s and mechanics from the current decade of video game development.

Phil Fournier, a production manager at Ubisoft, tells VG247 that, “To get the feeling right, we had Terminator posters on every wall and a VHS running the best and worst action movies of that era. Everybody had He-Man figurines on their desk, it was radically awesome.”

Blood Dragon is designed as a homage to classic action movies, but the general silliness of the story and the characters will come in stark contrast to the modern shooter mechanics.

The game will be launched via the PlayStation Store from Sony, the Xbox Live Arcade service from Microsoft and the PC via uPlay.
